Crisis Committees

Many Model UN Conferences now offer some form of crisis committees, a smaller, less traditional, unpredictable simulation. Best Delegate describes crisis committees as "... fast-paced MUN committees that often emulate small organizations and boards. Rather than representing a country, delegates take on the role of a character that can range from an ambassador to a news reporter to a fictional character, depending on the committee."

While you will often find more experienced delegates in crisis committees, novice delegates can also be successful with thorough preparation before conference and active participation throughout committee. These committees, while challenging, can also be the most fun and creative.
